Our January dance was a great success with our members experiencing a new band’s appearance at our dinner dance – the Sandy Vine Trio. Their performance encouraged a number of members to let us know that the band was really terrific. At this dinner, we also experienced an alternate way of being served – “family style” – by having platters of food delivered to our tables instead of our more typical buffet.
On Saturday, February 18th, we will be hosting our annual President’s Ball where we honour the long line of Presidents who have led our incredible team of volunteers who have made our dinner dances such a success. This is a formal event where those of us who have Tuxedos get a chance to get dressed up! At these formal events, we also are served at our tables.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to one and all!
Our annual Christmas Ball was a great success with 116 people in attendance. The Juke Box Junkies (minus 1) serenaded us during dinner which was very well received with singing and clapping sponteneously breaking out druing dinner. Thanks to everyone who generously donated foodstuffs to be used by the Newark Neighbours organization to help the disadvantaged.
If you couldn’t make it out to the dance (or even if you did), feel free to view pictures from the dance at our website by clicking here. We have also posted some photos from the November and October dinner dances as well. Click on “Past Events” to view them.
